Basic Skills Initiative (BSI)

The Basic Skills Initiative (BSI) is a collaborative statewide effort to address the needs of community college students who are academically under-prepared to succeed in their coursework. We invite everyone at De Anza to join in this institutional effort to assist students in reaching their goals.

Recent Update: December 15, 2008

The BSI steering Committee is in the process of reviewing the 16 submitted proposals.  By early January, 2009, we hope to have a list of proposals that we would like to see funded.  This list will then be submitted to President Murphy and other senior administrators for their approval. 

Thank you for your patience with the process as we strive to allocate these dollars in the fairest and most effective way that we can.
