Careers Using Business Software Applications
Across a number of trades and industries, one of the most common job requirements is proficiency in business-related computer applications. Job seekers who have proven experience in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software have a better chance of entering the job market and succeeding in the office environment. On a more focused level, there is also a regular need for individuals with experience in electronic publishing and web development to handle corporate communications in the increasingly digital world. The job outlook is good for people with publishing skills; it is very good for people with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills.

Necessary Education and Skills for Career Success
A woman and man sit facing each other on their computers and a man working on his computer sits up front smiling at the camera.Proficiency in computer software applications requires attention to detail, a good memory for procedures and rules, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Other qualities of proficiency in software applications include the ability to maintain current skills and adapt to new technologies and good organizational skills.
